Couples Therapy - Money, Relationships & Generational Patterns
Couples therapy with me is right for you if you're navigating arguments about money that never seem to get resolved, different values and approaches to spending and saving, financial infidelity or money secrets that have damaged trust, financial stress that's creating distance or affecting intimacy, or generational money patterns that keep showing up between you.
It's also right for couples who aren't in crisis but want to get ahead of conflict, building shared financial goals, understanding each other's money histories, and creating a partnership that's financially and emotionally grounded.
Most couples fighting about money aren't really fighting about money. They're fighting about safety, worth, control, and survival patterns that were handed down long before they ever met each other.
As both a licensed therapist and a Certified Financial Social Worker, I'm one of the few therapists equipped to sit with couples at the intersection of financial stress and relationship dynamics, and address both at the same time, in the same room.
What we work on
-
Financial Conflict
Getting underneath the arguments to what's actually driving them.
-
Different Money Values
Understanding why you approach money differently and how to bridge it.
-
Financial Infidelity
Rebuilding trust after money secrets, hidden debt, or financial deception.
-

Addressing how financial stress shows up in your emotional and physical connection.
-
Shared Financial Goals
Building a financial vision you're both invested in and working toward together.
-
Generational Money Patterns
Identifying what each person learned about money growing up, and how those lessons are playing out between you now.
-
Power Imbalances
Addressing dynamics where money creates control, dependency, or resentment.
-
Communication Breakdown
Building the skills to talk about money, and everything else, without it becoming a fight.
Most couples therapists aren't trained in financial wellness. Most financial advisors aren't trained in trauma or relationship dynamics. I hold both, which means we don't have to choose between working on your relationship and working on your money. We do both, because they were never separate to begin with.
